Proposing a Better Water Quality and Mitigation of Water Shortages in UPHSD Las Piñas

Water is one most the most important necessities in life. Every human needs water to live and be healthy. However, water outages and poor water quality has been a worldwide issue. Unfortunately, The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) is no stranger to this issue. However, we, the community can be able to solve this problem. In this blog post, we propose a comprehensive approach to achieving better water quality and mitigating water shortages within UPHSD, and hopefully prove a better experience for all.

Water issues has been prevalent in the past year in the university. It happens very often and it times it leads to the dirty and unclean restrooms. Water interruptions happens quite often and is needed to take action in order for the hygiene and safety of the students of the university. Therefore, we the students from 12STEM11/PBM are writing this article in order to propose recommendations about what the university can do in order to improve the water system in the university.

But before we show you, let us tell you how important quality and good water in the university. Quality and good water in universities are crucial for the health, safety, and well-being of students, faculty, and staff. It helps students for proper hydration, enhances concentration, and promotes optimal performance. Additionally, it supports research activities, environmental sustainability, and educational initiatives related to water resources, fostering a safe and conducive learning environment for all. With that being said, let us start discussing options.

Firstly, UPHSD should prioritize the implementation of advanced water treatment systems. The university should use advanced filtration techniques technologies liked carbon filtration to remove contaminants and impurities from the water supply. With this, we can ensure that the water consumed by its students, faculty, and staff and benefited from the quality and safety of the water.

In addition, UPHSD should regularly test the water supply is essential to monitor and maintain the integrity and purity of the water supply. In addition, UPHSD should invest in water testing equipment and facilities. This can be for routine testing for pH levels, dissolved solids and bacterial content. By consistently monitoring water quality, the university can promptly identify any issues and take appropriate measures to rectify them, guaranteeing a safe and reliable water supply for all.

That is not all though. The university should also prioritize water conservation programs within its campus. Awareness campaigns and seminars should be implemented to educate students, faculty, and staff about the importance of conserving water and implementing water-saving techniques. These campaigns can raise awareness about the impact of individual water consumption habit as well as on their water consumption habits.

Overall, the university has the potential to improve their water quality and mitigating water storages. The university can implement various water filtration techniques, regular water quality testing, and creating awareness campaign and programs. With this, the university sets an example for other institutions and the surrounding community to give importance to our water!
